While visiting Åland and Åland University of Applied Sciences, we advise you to book your accomodation in Mariehamn, our only town. Do not book rooms in the countryside. Mariehamn, situated on a peninsula, is a compact town with short distances between key locations: approximately 1.2 km from the western harbour to the eastern harbour, and about 1.5 km from the northern to the southern city centre.

The University is situated in the western harbour, very close to the ferry terminal. The government is situated in the eastern harbour. The city centre is situated between eastern and western harbour, closer to the eastern harbour. In addition to the hotels listed below, there are other accommodations available, such as Airbnb options.

Hotel Arkipelag

Hotel Arkipelag has a large hotel restaurant for breakfast/lunch and smaller restaurant, Compagniet, for dinner in the evening. The City Center is just around the corner. Located about 1 km from the University and around 100 m from the Government building.

Park Alandia Hotel is recently renovated, and has a nice pub and restaurant. This hotel is also located very close to the City Center. The distance to the University is about 700 m, and around 300 m to the Government building.

Åland Hotels consists of three hotels: Hotel Pommern, Hotel Savoy and Hotel Adlon. They are located from roughly 300 m to 1 km from the University, and from 400 m to 1 km from the Government building. The standard varies from recently renovated to average.
